Children and Families

  • Consultation, support and resources for students and their families to ensure they understand assessment results as well as recommendations and next steps 

  • Advocating for students and their families for required support 

  • Encouraging student voice and self-advocacy, ensuring student understanding of their needs as a learner and how to ask for help

Schools

  • Experiences in educational settings as well as knowledge of pedagogical, and psychological theory creating a unique understanding of the learning and mental health needs of students in schools

  • Ensuring appropriate testing and realistic recommendations are made for students, their families, and teachers with a trauma-informed approach

Agencies

  • Seeking out and promoting inter-professional partnerships that include a variety of organizations, school boards and agencies to ensure the provision of inclusive psychological supports for students and their families

Indigenous Communities

  • Privileged to have been invited to work with students, their families, and staff in multiple Indigenous communities in Ontario

  • Knowledge of ethical issues in standardized assessment including cultural biases in testing and analysis

  • Understanding the unique needs of students living in rural communities and providing relevant classroom recommendations and supports
